WELCOME
Welcome to the East Elementary School! We’ve had a great start to the school year! We are always pleased and excited when new students enroll in our school. And as always, it is fun to see the familiar faces of students that have been here! I want to personally assure you that we place great value in your membership and your child’s membership in the Minden Schools. Our most important goal is to provide the best possible learning environment for your child! We want every child to succeed! We want your child to go home each day feeling successful and a little bit smarter than when they came to school that day!
As a parent you have an opportunity to make an enormous difference in how much and how well your child learns. Part of the difference you can make is being involved in your school. We encourage your participation by suggesting that you:
• See that your child gets a good night’s sleep.
• Communicate often with your child’s teachers.
• Know what your child is studying. Make sure that they do their homework and bring it back to school the next day.
• Attend parent/teacher conferences.
• See that your child follows school rules and attends school regularly.
• See that your child is to school on time each and every day.
PARENTS MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE IN THE LIVES OF THEIR CHILDREN!
When you have questions about the school and its many programs, don’t hesitate to contact your child’s teacher or myself. Many rewarding experiences await your child at East Elementary. All of us look forward to working with you and your child throughout the year. If at any time I can help you in any way regarding your child’s education, feel free to stop in at my office or to call me.

Thank You PAC
East Elementary students and teachers would like to thank our PAC for all the work they have done this school year. The students enjoyed the Popcorn Fridays and the homecoming days. Our Fun Walk was weathered out, so had to be completed around the school. All thank the PAC for their efforts to support the students and programs at East.
The teachers were treated to home-cooked meals during fall and spring Parent/Teacher conferences. They were also treated to fun, flowers and food during Teacher Appreciation Week. Sincere appreciation is extended by all of us!
We hope to see some of you back next year, and if there are other parents who would like to get involved with the PAC, let Mrs. Lieske know. Have a wonderful summer. Thanks again for all your work.
PAC members for the 2010-2011 school year have been Angie Althouse, Dena Beck, Libby Holsten, Annie Jacobsen, Buffi Kamery, Jenny Koch, Jolene Lempka, Amber Lewis, Marse McCann-Carpenter and Sherry Reichstein. If you see any of these people, please thank them for their service.
